Throughout the day at Play to Learn all children are developing ‘intense interest’ in things such as trains, planes, diggers or dinosaurs, books, puzzles and many more. This intense interest can lead to developing their knowledge, skills and abilities for their lifelong learning journey.
Who doesn’t love playing with dinosaurs, or even engaging in pretend play where they’re the dinosaur – after all, what’s more fun than stomping around and roaring a lot?
Dinosaurs are a mystery to us at Play to Learn because they lived millions of years ago, and they’re all extinct. This mystery and the idea of ancient creatures sparks a sense of curiosity and fascination in our children. Our children use dinosaur toys and costumes to role-play and imagine what it would be like to be a dinosaur. This can be a fun way for them to explore their creativity and imagination. This interest is what triggered the idea of a dinosaur day at Play to Learn.
