Here at Play to Learn we participated in the Maori Language week. Our tamariki did various learning experiences based on the Maaori language such as making koru, doing poi dance, making kowhaiwhai head-bands, doing whurutu (fruit) and hua whenua (vegetables) collage pasting, and Te Reo Maaori number matching game. Our ngaa peepee learned waiata (counting and colour song), learned Old McDonald in Te Reo Maaori, made their own pounamu using green collage materials, and made a waka (painted red, black, and white).
It was such an amazing week of play, art, and learning about Te Reo Maori. Tino pai to mahi, tamariki ma!!
