Here at Play to Learn we strive to positively educate tamariki about the importance of sustainability for our environment, and the longevity of active sustainability within our world. When we actively and intentionally care for our Papatuuaanuku with aroha, she feels safe and cared for and in return, she blesses us with aroha and nutritional kai.
Ngaa tamariki loved harvesting their cabbages, spring onions, and herbs from our sustainable gardens in preparation for cooking our Chinese New Year delicacy of Beef Chow-Mein. When children are a part of the growing and harvesting process they also feel empowered in the choices they make when trying new kai. Ngaa tamariki loved chopping up their fresh vegetables and preparing a lovely nutrient-rich kai to celebrate our Chinese New Year in such an authentic way, with delicious produce from our home.
